About

Hi — I'm Rok.

You might be here to learn Korean with me, or to spend a day of your trip together. Either way, you're trusting me with your time — so let me be straight about who I am.

I came to teaching from some very different places — five years in finance (investment banking, then venture capital), an army officer before that, and a Yonsei degree before all of it. I do it because I'd rather put everything I know to work face to face than sit behind a corporate desk. But the résumé isn't the point: what each of those really taught me was to pay real attention, and hold myself to a high standard.

The rest — each part of the story, and what it changes for you — is below. Tap to open.

Purpose

Why I do this

What I most wanted was to put all of it to work directly for one person at a time — not from behind a desk at a big company, but face to face, where everything I know goes entirely toward the person in front of me. That's what this is: my full attention, and everything I've learned, pointed at making it genuinely worth your while.

I share how I think — about Korea, language, and life — across a few places. Have a look before you decide.

Most students who take the full path reach conversational Korean in about 6 months, at a steady pace.
